ILLUSTRATIONS AND ANIMATIONS

This was created for the York Art Gallery, my inspiration for this piece was based around where I live in the Fens, which is in the south East of England. I wanted people to see and understand the magic and picturesque landscape that I live in, this particular animation is based on Sutton Bridge which has a salt marsh extending into the Wash and North sea. The character is based on my little sister, it depicts a young girl walking away from the viewer though the seasons starting in winter and ending on a summer's night and turning into a magical surprise

This was created for the Leeds Young Film Festival where we had to do a three to four second GIF. I based my GIF on the Leeds water front merged with the Leeds market building. I wanted Leeds to be recognisable as well as showing a completely different side and view of Leeds that not many people get to see, by making the canal boats my focal point. The boats represent the film candidates arriving in Leeds for the film festival or in this case because of the pandemic, sending their short films to the festival .
